Amalgamated Landscape Series

This series originated as a discussion about loneliness, sorrow, and isolation after the absurdness of surviving the war. I believe many places continue to bear the scars of human interaction, that they possess a memory that lingers on the earth and in the air. I truly believe the earth remembers what we do and has a discourse with us, whether we choose to hear it or not. I have been to places where the earth still resonates with the mass destruction and loss of life. I have also been to shrines and gardens where humans have centered peace, balance, and prayer for hundreds or thousands of years. In such places I’ve felt a peace stronger than anywhere else. It emanates from a land we have chosen to love and care for. This series serves as a discourse into the spiritual aspects of landscapes and the materials with which we interact, past and present.
